Liège, October 2024 – La nocturne des Coteaux (The Night of the Hillsides)
Interactive video mapping glitched by pedestrians
This year, the Liège Hackerspace was not invited to propose a project for « La nocturne des Coteaux ». Not a big deal. Along with another member of the hackerspace, we decided to hack the event from the windows of an apartment**.
The setup isn’t the most polished, but it works for the night.
Four projectors, mounted on laser-cut supports, project onto windows covered with paper. An HDMI video wall box splits the image into four parts. A webcam, placed on the windowsill, captures the movements of pedestrians.
Thanks
For providing the projectors:
- La Fédération des Maisons de Jeunes en Belgique francophone (Thanks L0dri),
- My former school: St. Jean Berchmans (Thanks to my first programming teacher, David),
- The FabLab of the Province of Liège (Thanks Julien).
